Team Brown What can Brown do for you?
Frequently Asked Questions - NVP Sorority Affairs
How will you be accountable when your husband is your leader?
Curtis and I do a pretty good job of holding ourselves and each other accountable. We do not always agree and there is room to dialogue with different perspectives for the betterment of the organization. As I answered during the candidate luncheon, I am probably one of the few sisters who will challenge National President Emeritus Brown as so many who have come in under his administration see him as a big brother.

Many sisters have had an experience of feeling excluded and/or unacknowledged if they don’t have a personal relationship with you, despite their qualifications and zeal. How do you plan to be more open and authentic with sisters that you may not know?
I have never intentionally excluded any member of ANQ. I invite those sisters who have not had a chance to spend time with me in an intimate setting to get to know me. I can be very focused when I am working and often in ANQ family settings I have been busy working but I always welcome a hug or greeting. If I don't see you please stop me and get my attention. I truly love all of my sisters and welcome the opportunity to spend more time with my sorors.

What initiatives do you plan to have in place to foster a stronger sense of sisterhood among alumni chapters (since it appears to be lacking)?
I have designated a member on my team to focus on Alumni Affairs. My first initiative with the Alumni will be to encourage them to stay/get connected. I will be developing some strategies with my chair towards that effort but the thought is to start with areas of interest and availability. If I can get sisters working together around common interests, it will help build relationships.
