Curtis was inducted into the prestigious brotherhood – Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity, Inc., in March of 1991. He immediately stepped into leadership, being elected Alpha Chapter President in September of 1991 and serving as president until his graduation in May of 1992.
In 1994, the National Board of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. commissioned Curtis and a group of Alumni to form the first Alumni Chapter of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. Curtis served as the chartering chapter president. The National Board called upon Curtis to serve as the National President upon the death of his line brother – the late National President Erwin Page-Mouzon in March 1995. He served as the National President until November 3, 2008. In 2008 Visionary Founder Shirley K. Russell appointed Curtis M. Brown as her successor to hold the position of Supreme National Advisor in her absence. He currently holds National President Emeritus status. During Curtis’ presidency he spearheaded the formation of the United Council of Christian Fraternities and Sororities, Inc. (UCCFS). He currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of UCCFS.
With a BS in Marketing from Morgan State University and a MBA in Accounting from the University of Phoenix, Curtis has management and leadership experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. His positions have included Marketing Director, Manager, Assistant Vice President and Sales Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Business Manager, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice President of Finance.
Curtis and his wife of 20 years, Kenya N. Brown, have served together to further the ministry of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. while raising three children.
Curtis also serves faithfully in leadership in his church as an ordained Elder and Overseer.
